Verify your number
Before Orbit will touch your calendar or inbox, it confirms the phone texting it is really you. This is a one-time step that takes about 30 seconds.
Why this exists
Orbit acts on real things. It books meetings, reads email, and remembers facts about your work. Verifying your number means only you can drive your Orbit from your phone. An unverified number gets a friendly, limited assistant with no access to your tools or memory.

Open your workspace
Go to your Orbit dashboard and find Verify your number. It appears right after sign-up, and in Settings → Your number anytime.
Link your phone
Either:
- Scan the QR code shown on the dashboard with your phone’s camera, or
- Text the code shown on screen to your Orbit number.
You’re verified
Orbit texts you back to confirm. From now on, messages from that phone get the full assistant: calendar, email, reminders, and memory.
One phone, one workspace. A phone number can be verified to a single workspace at a time. If your number is already linked somewhere else, remove it there first, or use a different number.
Inviting your team
When you invite a teammate, they join your workspace automatically. They don’t create their own. Right after joining, they’re asked to link their own phone (same 30-second handshake), so:
- Their reminders come to their phone.
- Their personal Gmail and Calendar stay private to them. You can share a workspace without sharing inboxes.
A teammate who hasn’t verified a phone yet can still use the web dashboard, but Orbit can’t text them (reminders, briefs) until they link a number.
Troubleshooting
- “That code isn’t valid.” The number may already be linked to another workspace. Remove it there, then try again.
- No reply after texting the code. Double-check you texted your workspace’s Orbit number, and that you copied the code exactly.
